Meeting between BSU delegation and vice president of Bulgaria Iliana Yotova

     From March 19 to 22 rector of Baku Slavic University, professor Nurlana Aliyeva, the delegation consisting of vice rectors met with the new vice president of Bulgaria Iliana Yotova during the visit to Bulgaria.

     Receiving the Azerbaijani delegation in the Presidential palace Iliana Yotova expressed her pleasure to see Azerbaijani guests in her country. Vice president also stated to come to Baku Slavic University in the intended visit to Azerbaijan in the near future.  Highly appreciating the functioning of University teaching the Bulgarian language in Azerbaijan he expressed his gratitude to BSU for respect and care.

     Dealing with the activity of Bulgarian language and literature department in the institution of higher education run by her, rector, professor Nurlana Aliyeva said that BSU has close relations with the leading Universities of Bulgaria. N.Aliyeva noted that events related to the history, culture and customs of Bulgaria, meetings with cultural and scientific figures of this country are organized in the Bulgarian language and cultural center. Center is in close cooperation with Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Azerbaijan which mediates the organization of meetings with public figures, representatives of social and cultural life of this country held every year. The students learning Bulgarian take an active part in all the events organized by Embassy. N.Aliyeva spoke about a high position of Azerbaijani woman in the society, women’s day by day increasing activity in our country, she highlighted the importance of close combination around national interests. These opinions of rector were met with great sympathy by vice president Iliana Yotova.

     It should be noted that Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria Nargiz Gurbanova, vice rector for Scientific affairs of BSU, professor Rafig Novruzov, vice rector for Educational affairs Khanim Sultanova also took part in the meeting.
