Getting to know your student

"If your fingers crack, you will not be able to play in the piano ..."

Zeynalova Vusala Rafael gizi - was born in 1999 in Baku. After completing his 9-year education at School No. 59, he continued his education at Zangilan Secondary School No 28. In 2017 he was admitted to the Faculty of Philology and Foreign Language Teaching at Baku Slavic University. He owns 6 gold, 10 silver and 5 bronze medals in karate.

My interest in sports started from childhood. While reading at school, I was busy with different types of sports every year on summer holidays. Gymnastics, acrobatics, judo, and karate were of major interest. Alongside sports, I also liked music. I've been studying piano at a 7-year music school. My teachers always said that if your fingers cracked, you would not be able to play in the piano. I listened to my teachers' advice and stopped my karate exercises. I graduated from music school in grade 9. I registered in 2015 at the Serhedchi Sports Complex and started again in karate.

There is a difference between heaven and earth between philology and karate. I did not love to spare my free time. Along with piano, I have been a choir performer  for 5 years. I was admitted to the Faculty of Philology with my mother's desire. In fact, I had the desire to become a military man because I was preparing for the III group. Now that I have been studying in German philology, I have a chance to become a military man and now it is my main goal.

My family is behind every success I have earned. My biggest support is my parents and grandmother. I lost my mother in 2017. Now, even though he is not with me, other members of my family try to stand up in my work. After my family, my best friend is Tarlan Javadov. I owe my all my success to my coaches. As I spend most of my day in the gym, Tarlan teacher has become my closest friend.

My first competition was the Inter-Club Championship in October 2015. Despite being very excited, I won third place. My first achievement gave me more incentives. In November of that year, I had to fight with a very strong European 2-lady. Despite having been involved in karate for 5 months, I won the first place. And after this race everyone began to recognize me. Because I was a yellow belt master, but I won the black belt master. After that I won the I, II, III places at the Inter-Club Baku Championships many times. It was even more encouraging for me to win 2nd place at the Baku Olympic Games.

My first race outside of Georgia was in Georgia. Even though my breath was not fully open, I had already won III place. In September 2016, I won a certificate at a seminar in Iran. Along with sports, I was also preparing for a high school. At that time I participated in the European Championship, having won 3 rounds and 3 rounds. Despite being involved in nearly 2 years of karate, it was a great success for me to stay in Europe. After this race, I won the first place in the Republic Championship.

As I was admitted to the high school, I gave up training and stopped racing. But only 3 months later, in February 2018, I took the 2nd place in the Women's Intercontinental Championship in Iran. Because of the absence of men's participation in the women's races in Iran, I had to become a coach for nine athletes from Azerbaijan. I was motivated by myself because I did not have a coach who supported me in that race. In such a situation, winning the 2nd was a great success.

For the first time in 2017, I received an Honorary Decree on "Physical Education and Sport Day". In March 2018, I won the 2nd Honorable Order on the "Physical Education and Sports Day" by the direct executive of the Yasamal district executive.

Karate taught me to be patient, to trust myself, and to have strong feelings. Karate is such a kind of sport that you will notice in advance what your opponent is going to blow. It helps me in real life. Karate has some kind of action called "kata", so you just have to breathe with your nose. Allergies in my breath have been reduced to 20% thanks to karate. The small breath I received during those actions helped to heal my allergies.

When I was in grade 10, no one knew I was doing sports. The schoolmates, who were telling me, joked at me and said, "Where is the girl, where the sport is?" It was a blow to a guy who did not believe in my power, and then everyone began to care about me. My friends who are on the road with me always feel confident. Self-consciousness that I gained through karate while returning home in the evening helps me to move freely.

Even if our opponents are not Armenian, we are struggling with them in such competitions, and we do our best to win that race. I have never been an Armenian opponent in the races. At one of the championships, Romanian, Armenian and Georgian athletes competed with me. In that competition, I won the 3rd place and the Armenian won the IV place.
