An event was held within the framework of the project " Healthy life, without drug, cigarette and alcoholic drink" in BSU

   

     The event was organized by the Baku Slavic University on November 28 with the financial support of the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, within the framework of the project "Healthy life without drug, cigarette and alcoholic drink" by AzerMDS Doctors and Medical Students Public Union.

     Vice-rector on educational work, docent Xanim Sultanova noted the importance of holding such events in higher education institutions as an important step in integration of young people into healthy society. Speaking about the importance of protection against drug abuse, Sultanova noted that harmful habits such as drugs are among the major problems of the agenda. She said that the problem of drug addiction does not only impinge on people's physical health, but also creates serious problems in the formation of identity as well as in the world of morality.

     Deputy Chairman of the Public Association of Doctors and Medical Students Agil Abbasov informed on slide about illnesses related narcotics and ways of dealing with drugs. A.Abbasov noted that periodic educational activities were carried out at secondary and higher educational institutions, adding that the fight against drug addiction in our country, anti-drug propaganda, return drug addicts to healthy life and other serious tasks were put forward.

     The doctor of the Baku Narcology Dispensary, Terika Guliyeva, emphasized the importance of the informing young generation about the important medical and social problem as drug addiction. T. Guliyeva gave detailed information on the statistics of the people who suffered from this disease throughout the country.

     Shahmar Taghiyev, deputy head of the Nasimi District Youth and Sports Department, noted that the main goal of the anti-drug activities  was to study more effective ways to solve this problem.

     At the event, a discussion was held with the students on this subject  and  issues had been resolved.
