The Academic Council of Baku Slavic University at its meeting held on September 29, 2004 by the unanimous decision awarded the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Georgi Parvanov the title of BSU Honorary Doctor for his service in enhancing friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria, for his contribution to extension of neighborly relations between the nations.
