UKRAINIAN CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL CENTER


 The Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Center was established at Baku Slavic University with the support of the Embassy of the Ukraine to Azerbaijan on October 17, 2001. The Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Center was the first center, which began its activities within Baku Slavic University.
     Currently the Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Center is a famous for popularization Ukrainian culture in Azerbaijan. Students learn the Ukrainian language and literature at the Center. The Center also hosts different cultural ceremonies, celebration of anniversaries of historical and cultural events of the Ukraine.
     There is a «Sunday school» functioning within the Center which was opened on March 02, 2001 with the initiative of the Ukrainian Embassy, BSU staff and the Ukrainian Community. Attendants of the «Sunday school» learn the Ukrainian language and literature, culture and national customs and traditions.
     In 2009 a linguaphone cabinet of the Ukrainian language named after T. Shevchenko was opened and it significantly improved the learning process of the Ukrainian language.In 2011 an ensemble «Slavyanochka» started to function at the Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Center. Over the years the ensemble of the Center has participated in different mass-culture events organized by BSU and Embassy of the Ukraine to Azerbaijan. The staff of the Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Center has carried out research works on the study of the Ukrainian and Azerbaijani cultural heritage. The Center closely cooperates with the Embassy of the Ukraine to Azerbaijan, Ukrainian Diaspora in Azerbaijan and with universities of the Ukraine.
