The Academic Council of Baku Slavic University at its meeting held on January 8, 2001 by the unanimous decision awarded the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin the title of BSU Honorary Doctor for his service in extending and strengthening scientifi, economic and social relations between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, creating favorable conditions for the training of highly qualifid specialists and assisting integration process within CIS.
